I have been sans internet lately so I can only use the internet when I happen to be at a friends place or some other public internet thing. Thus I havn't had time to update. Enough excuses....
Things are going pretty well. I'm staying busy trying to make some much needed cash and in the mean time having a good time with my friends and people I meet through my friends. Idyllwild later this summer should be pretty sweet.
Until the next time I have internet...

I havn't posted in awihle just because I don't care.
So I got a job as a courier driving around packages and getting paid for it. The money can be really good too. Plus since I'm technically operating as an independent contractor, I can write my gas costs off my taxes which means I probably will have little to no taxes around tax time next april. I'll probably be able to afford that Sharp laptop I've had my eye on for a year within the next month.
Also, I'm staying down in LB for a couple months over the summer until I go to Idyllwild in August. I'm staying with this girl I met in my theory class this semester, but I'm actually just a placeholder for her other friend (that is a girl) thats going to move in in August when I leave. Her friend is staying at home for a couple of months so this way this girl I'm staying with wouldn't have to pay the entire rent on her own for a couple of months. Wow, that probably didn't make any sense. Just, try to figure it out if you really care.
Its kinda a funny story how I ended up meeting this girl. My friend Nathan from back home IMmed me a while back and said "Hey I just met this girl who goes to LB and she said she's in your theory class". It turns out that her friend (thats moving in in August) knew this other guy from her hometown who was friends with Nathan and they all went for a visit and met eachother. Forget six degrees of separation, this was like 4 degrees. Pretty crazy
Anyway, enough for now.

So earlier today, my professor for my music history class comes up to me and says, "youre the one who wrote the paper on electronica? I just wanted to tell you that I thought it was very interesting. I had a chance to read it the other day and I thought you should know that you really got my attention with that topic"
I guess I'm getting an A on that paper, and probably an A in the class since its a big term paper. Yay for me!
I told her after class that when we get around to studying 20th century music I'd be willing to bring in a couple of samples of some music. I'll probably throw in some Aphex, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher and the like on there and let her take a listen. I think perhaps I'll put one of my pieces on there too and see what she thinks.

This weekend has been seriously one of the best ever here. I was feeling a little down lately but I got slung right back up when I trekked up there with my Hillel buddies for the Maccabia Games (Jewish Olympics). We got 2nd out of 2 in the games (meh) but that was only 1 activity of the weekend. The rest of the time was spent either watching hot girls in bikinis playing volleyball or partying like it was 1999. Absolutely incredible. I'm going to see what kind of music department they have up there and see if it would be worthwhile for me to xfer up there after next year.
Time to get back to my boring old Long Beach routine. I will never look at this school the same way again....

So I'm sitting here drinking an arizona iced tea and munching on some wasabi peas and I realized that I just got through like one of the hardest weeks here. I finished a bunch of work including a 6 page paper on Aphex Twin (which came out really good btw, IM me if you want an interesting read) and a 6-8 minute speach on the israeli defence fence in the last 48 hours. I guess thats one of the upsides of procrastination, if you pull through its more rewarding in the end than if you planned it out better since you realize "how the hell did I do that?".
Anyway, just wanted to share that thought

I just got back from an interview at KROQ studios. It went well in my opinion but i'll find out on friday if I made round 2 of the interviews. Hopefully Trump won't fire me.
The funny thing is, I'm applying for a van driver position, and on my way there I got pulled over. Not because I was breaking any traffic laws, because my trucks mudflaps are broken and are non-conformant to vehicle code. OMG I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH TIMES... Got back a couple of hours ago from camping in the wilderness of Newport Beach :-P. It was pretty cool and laid back overall except for the Nazi security guards they have there. They stop one guy in our group that was skateboarding around and when he told them he didn't have any ID on him since he was wearing a bathing suit they decide that he's a terrorist and call the FBI on him. THEY CALLED THE FRICKIN COPS BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE HIS ID ON HIM!!. I was like "wtf is this? the gestapo is coming already?". People in this country need to get a fricken clue. Not everybody is out to get you. If you happen to be a security guard, national security is not your top priority. Your top priority is to make sure nobody gets their throat cut anywhere on the premises of the RV park and Resort and to make sure all the camper touting rednecks feel patriotic by saluting you. Jeez this country is going to hell. It makes me angry.
Anyway, I get home and there is a second huge bulge hanging from the kitchen sink. I found the first one before I left to go camping and my mom popped it and drained all the water. Turns out we havea leaky faucet upstairs so since my parents arn't here, I need to be the phone mediator between them and the plumber. And we're already over our minutes on my cell phone so I can't use that anymore for the rest of the week during peak hours. (if you need to reach me call me at home). Plus if the bill isn't too much theyre making me pull money from my account to pay him. They'll pay me back its just that I've already been putting a lot of stress on my account this week seeing as I was the one who paid for the camping site in Newport. That pisses me off too.. Because the cops came it scared away all the other people who were going to come hang out with us and pitch in their cash to get food the rest of us who actually were camping out there have to absorb all of the costs of staying there. As of now, I'm down $120 but I'm getting some of that paid back. It looks like I'm going to be out $80 for some food and a good yelling at by the management.
Everything just kinda sucks right now...

Notice how "hate" and "truck" are right next to eachother. Its probably because every time I talk about my truck I use the phrase: "I hate my truck". I really don't hate anything else except for that...

I just got back from touring with symphonic band and my room was filled with crumpled newspaper... Its only finally being cleaned out by my jackass suitemates right now so I can use my computer. fucking jackasses.

I went home today for the afternoon to take care of some bidnass... and then I went to see the trombone recital put on by my private teacher Jim Miller. OMG it was soo rad. You really have to have an ear for ultra avant garde type shit though in order to like it. but yeah... now i'm back here. I'm going to write more later, but right now its late and I'm tired... I'm going to sleep... nitey

So I get a phone call tonight. Its very obviously a soundboard (example: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/homer.html). I play along for awhile and eventually he screws up with the buttons, I call him on it and he chuckles a little and hangs up. Two seconds later I'm standing in my neighbors dorm and he gets a phone call. He picks it up and again it sounds like a soundboard:
"hello?"

"who is this?"
"who is this?"
he hangs up and tells me if I want to take it if it rings again that I'm welcome to. It goes a little somethin like this:

him - YOU THE GUY WHOSE DOING MY GIRL? (this totally made me think it was a soundboard, just by the pure randomness and shock value)

him - wheres here? (uh oh, he's actually forming coherent responses, perhaps its not a soundboard after all)
me - where I am, how did you get this number?
him - someone gave it to me
